Experiences with the Dentist

Squatting down outside the house compound, waiting for the intermittent cool breeze to brush my face.
The rain has stopped.

Doctor. Dentist. What else? Those that provide professional treatment to their patient. Well, I never liked them even though I myself is a science stream student. I hate swallowing those large-in-size medicine like panadol. The thought of it getting stuck in the throat is horrifying. Despite all this, I mustered up my courage when I decided to seek orthodontic treatment. Well, I'm the third person in the family that have gone through the fun experience after my brother and sister.

Combination of pink and orange!

My little girl had a fantastic experience with the dentist.

Her two permanent front teeth had grown out but the two milk teeth were still attached. Worried that the new teeth would be slanted in, I took her to the dentist.

Havoc at the clinic when it was her turn to be attended to. The nurse and I had to grab hold of her but WOW, both of us were being pushed off. How powerful she was! Now, she is as powerful as ever. She can push anyone away with all her might.

Well, the dentist, the nurse and I gave up. I took my girl back home and asked her to pull out those teeth herself.

I didn't bother about that until one day, she showed me her teeth. Guess what!

Her two milk teeth was stucked in the piece of bread that she wanted to eat.

The passage above showed how much fear I have towards them. Hahah!
And here's another passage about how the braces was started.

My girl has protruded front teeth and she was very conscious of the condition. So I had no choice but to bring her to see my dentist. On the first visit, the dentist checked her teeth. I was asked to take her for an x-ray. After that, the dentist analysed the x-ray and suggested that braces should be very suitable for her.

It has been 5 months already and this is how her teeth look like as now. Initially, she has difficulty in chewing and biting. After a week or so, she got used to it already.

The treatment is done every month whereby the dentist has to monitor her condition. She got to experience different colors of elastics which are being used on her braces.

It will take about 2 years or so to finish the treatment. But it's not cheap too..

Yea, it's not cheap too. RM4570 and 4 of my precious healthy tooth have to be extracted.
It took exactly almost 2 years, mid of July 2011(put on braces) - mid of July 2013(take off braces).
Honestly, my self-confidence has boosted up a little bit because of braces.
Thankyou my mama for the support!

The Little Things

Papa opened my door with a bright smile, wrinkles shown on the end of his eyes.
"Jenny."
"Papa", I replied with the dullest voice and look. Eyes was dead beat. wanna sleep.
"On air-cond ah? cold anot?".
because all the air-conds were serviced.

Papa knocked on my door.
"Jenny."
"Har?" I was in the wash room.
"I put your school money on the piano ah"

"Bought school books?"
"ya!"
"Enough money anot? Not enough ask me ah!"

"Want to eat dessert? Papa buy for you."
"Har? no need lah. Thankyou!"
"Want la. You haven't try before one, very nice."

Papa is back!
I opened the door and he kissed me on the cheek.

Pic months ago when I still have my braces on.

the First-Time?

2. 2013 has been the year where i talk/chat to strangers the most.
Some of them are humorous. They put smiles on my face while facing the phone. And I thought I'm insane the next second when I'm awaken from the cyber world on the other hand, some of them didn't spark up the interest in me to interact with them. Anyway, I appreciate the joy, the awkwardness, the acquaintanship they let me endured in. As days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, I can finally regconise them and glad to meet them. While all this went smoothly, there is one person that I feel uncomfortable. Things got complicated. Thankyou my big bro for putting it to an end.

3. Driving to school.
I never liked school bus but I did look for one when i knew that I'm doing form 6. But to no avail, the bus i found was fully occupied. so I was like Okay loh. I wanted my mama to send me and pick me up from school but this is a big no to her. So i ended up car-pooling with a teacher for a few months and when I finally have my own driving licence, I started to drive to school. I enjoyed it though. Arrive at school 5 mins before the school starts and don't have to stomach the anxiety that comes around when you know someone is waiting for you outside of the school gate. Once I had trouble reversing out from my parking slot and nearly scratch the car next to me. Thankyou my schoolmates for lending a helping hand. They came out of a sudden when I was on the verge of giving up. If not, i would have encountered my first car accident.

4. Interview session with the Master.
Editorial board was not my first choice and I was quite disappointed as I didn't get into photography club. Thinking that it will engross me in all the lengthy essay and articles that can put you into boredom. But no, i am all wrong. It is more than that. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost. Simply extracted this that brings out what I'm trying to say.
